This rhododendron is a strong yakushimanum cultivar, with a compact wide upright habit and dark green foliage. The flowers grow in big clusters and are dark pink-red in the bud. On opening, the flowers are pink with a pale pink heart. 'Fantastica' flowers extremely richly, with striking colours.
