South Quay Plaza is one of the biggest resident properties in the UK. The iconic waterside property is located in Canary Wharf and includes three towers. The tallest of which will reach a height of 214.5 m (704 ft) making it the second tallest residential skyscraper currently proposed for London. HTA Landscape have been appointed by Berkeley Homes to design the public realm. The team designed to manage the perception of scale at ground level and to provide a variety of spaces for active and passive use. they succeeded well in the assignment. In the summer of 2019, before the skyscraper are ready, large trees and extensive soft landscape provide a park atmosphere for residents and workers. Also the dock edge walk is back into service. Van den Berk Nurseries supplied big Metasequoia with a stem circumference of 50-60, 70-80 and 100-120 cm, Amelanchier lamarckii, Betula papyrifera and Populus nigra. All trees are planted in the autumn of 2018 by Scotscape Landscaping ltd. Well done!
